CO2 lasers do NOT engrave directly on metal , however they can be pre-coated with Molybdenum Disulphide and then laser engraved which etches a "glaze" into the metal surface and leaves a black contrasting permanent marking which is totally resistant to most damage. This cannot be scratched off and allows us to mark Stainless Steel, Brass, Aluminum, Pewter, Titanium, tool steel and so forth. A particular benefit is that the marking does not stress or change the structure of the part. Suitable for tools , titanium implants, pens , promotional items , data plates , medical instruments , tool bits , auto parts , scales and rules etc etc.
